1. Who we are
OptiTrace is a software-powered optical tracer: it turns a smartphone photo of a demo lens into a lab-ready VCA shape file and sends it to your ECP prescription lens ordering system.

2. What we collect
- Photos you take in the app. Frame and demo-lens photos are processed on your device to extract the lens contour. Full photos stay on your device in your project history until you delete them — only the derived contour data is uploaded to the OptiTrace Cloud.
- Shape data. The generated VCA contour data (1,000 points per lens, frame type, edging parameters) is transmitted through the OptiTrace Cloud to your ECP prescription lens ordering system when you place an order.
- Device information. We do not collect crash reports or analytics, and we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
- Account details. The app requires an account: the contact details you register with are used for sign-in and to keep your project history available to you.
3. How we use it
- To run the tracing pipeline (photo → contour → VCA file) and the trace-to-order workflow.
- To keep your project history available to you across sign-ins.
- To fix bugs and keep the service running.
4. What we share
Shape and order data is shared with your chosen ECP prescription lens ordering system to fulfil your orders. Our cloud infrastructure is hosted by Alibaba Cloud — nothing else leaves the service.
5. Retention
Project photos stay on your device until you delete them in the app. Generated frame shape data records are retained for 24 months for support purposes, then deleted.
6. Security
Data in transit is encrypted (TLS). Data is hosted on Alibaba Cloud servers in Singapore.
7. Your rights
You can export or delete your projects in the app at any time. To request a copy or deletion of data held on our servers, contact Jason at info@ginoptic.com.
8. Children
OptiTrace is a professional tool and is not directed at children.
9. Changes
We will update this page when the policy changes and note the new effective date above.
